How To Overcome Your Fear Of Frustration

Life in the modern times has become so complicated with many endless deadlines, demands, and disappointments. Frustration is that feeling of being exasperated and wounded up for failing to accomplish your set objectives. It happens all the time, and no one is immune to the stresses that come with life.

There is no growth that you can encounter in this life without a cup of frustrations. If you are firm enough, life will stretch your muscles and harden you. In every stage of life, there are some aggravations you have to undergo; whether it’s passing exams in your class or launching a new product on the existing market or even settling down in marriage. Challenges seem to be part of life in general. There are no defined set rules to overcome frustrations in life; you must establish what works best for you.

The following is the list of techniques and strategies that you can apply to manage your frustrations in life:

1. SOCIALIZE WITH OTHER PEOPLE
Having a strong social network of friends and relatives who are supportive is the best strategy to overcome frustrations. When you face difficulties, talk to someone about it. This helps your body to release hormones that are in charge of reducing the anxiety that builds up in the body. Isolating yourself from others or remaining lonely will worsen the condition and hinders your ability to move on.

2. ENGAGE IN PHYSICAL EXERCISES
Engaging regularly in an exercise such as running, walking, swimming, dancing, or doing aerobics improves both your physical and mental health. Exercising for even 30-45 minutes for five days per week can boost up your moods, helping your body to naturally relieve anxiety, anger, and frustrations. It also distracts your worries, allowing your mind to be peaceful and break out the cycle of negative energies.

3. EAT HEALTHY FOODS
Your diet has a direct impact on your moods and determines how well you can cope with life frustrations. Taking processed and convenience foods stuff, refined carbohydrates, and snacks that are too sugary deteriorate the stress symptoms exposing your body and mind to many stress-related ailments. To cope with the constant life frustrations, take fresh foods that are enriched with quality proteins, vitamins, minerals, and healthy fats including the Omega-3 fatty acids, acids, fruits and vegetables, and salads.

4. HAVE A SENSE OF CONTROL
Having self-confidence helps your ability to control the stressful events and carry on with the challenges. If you get overwhelmed by the provoking demands and feel like things are beyond your control you will not achieve much out of it.

5. REMAIN POSITIVE AND OPTIMISTIC
Embrace the challenges as they come. Have a sense of humor and accept the inevitable. Optimistic people tend to have self-control in managing stress, and they approach life challenges positively.

6. BE READY TO FACE FRUSTRATIONS
When you’re well prepared to face the stressful situations, and you have enough information on how long it will take and what is expected of you. You will easily cope with it. For example, if you prepare well to face a panel interview, you will have a realistic picture of how things will turn out. This enables you to stay relaxed and confident.

7. SHIFT YOUR FOCUS
It’s possible to get into that moment of anger and despair when you’re frustrated. Tuning your mind to something different will help you to get relieved. Don’t allow the frustrations to take over your thoughts. Defeat it with other ideas by focusing on what interests you. Activities such as listening to your favorite music, visiting the sick in the hospital or helping a needy friend in carrying out some chores can be good stress releasers.

8. WRITE DOWN POSSIBLE ACTIONS
Brainstorm the possible actions to the situation affecting you. List down the causes of the problems and identify the possible solutions that can improve your current conditions.

9. APPRECIATE AND REWARD YOURSELF
In those moments when you are so angry and desperate, give yourself a treat. Appreciate the efforts you have taken to resolve the problem even if you have not achieved it. You have tried to make things work in your marriage, but you have failed. Reward yourself by going out for a delicious meal, reading a favorite book, watching a movie or taking up anything that will uplift your spirits.

10. GO BACK TO THE BASICS
Many people when they get frustrated, they turn to alcohol or drugs to overcome the anxious moments. This will not alleviate the problems you’re currently facing; instead, you will get worse. Taking up simple things that have not been focusing on, such as the great night’s sleep, a healthy meal or a visit to a long-time friend is some of the best cures of frustrations.
