Big artists like Beyoncé, and Bruno Mars maintained their shine with amazing hits that still rock the airwaves in this New Year. However, the ever shifting dynamics have welcomed new artists to the top, and as it is, these guys are just getting started.

The Chainsmokers have graced the world of EDM with great songs time and again. However, when Closer was released, it undoubtedly proved to be one of their best so far. The duo recorded the song together with the 21-year-old vocalist, Halsey.

Let Me Love You is a single from the French EDM producer DJ Snake. The song features Justin Bieber for the vocals and comes from Snake’s debut album Encore. For the vocals, Justin Bieber and Danish singer MØ have been featured. The song also features influences from dance hall, electronic chords, and acoustic guitars that give it a vibrant feel that really gets the crowd going.

Queen Bee as she is known by her fans, never disappoints. Her track record is filled with great hits that will still play decades to come. Her consistency in the music scene is to die for, and 2016 was celebrated buy her release of Formation. From her album Lemonade, which she dropped overnight, Formation grew onto people appealing mostly to girls and women with the killer line “Okay, ladies, now let’s get in formation.”

Bruno Mars is close to being a household name, if it’s not already. This musical genius has dropped hit after hit earning the love of fans from the world over, and judging from his recent releases, he was just getting warmed up. 24K Magic is a contemporary R&B song with a funky and disco feel to it. This song was met with a lot of enthusiasm from fans in 2016.

7. ROCKABYE BY CLEAN BANDIT

Rockabye is a song about doing all it takes to ensure your child gets a decent life. The song depicts the struggles of single mothers, and this concept was well captured in its video. The single by Clean Bandit features Dancehall King Sean Paul and the British singer Anne-Marie. The song alludes to the famous nursery rhyme increasing its familiarity to the fans who responded to it very well.

8. BAD THINGS BY MACHINE GUN KELLY

Bad Things shook heads and stamped feet in 2016. The song by Machine Gun Kelly and Camilla Cabello is really catchy with a mind-blowing message. A love song that speaks of pain and the pleasure that comes with it, making it feel right. The song also features Pachelbel’s Canon bass line, which gives a really it a classy sound with a mid-tempo flow that got the crowds hooked. She features the Canadian rapper Drake, and ever since this duo started working together, they have been leaving fans jamming to great hits. Work has strong dancehall influences, which had been Rihanna’s original sound before she digressed. This made the song receive a lot of mixed reactions from critics. However, it still defined the best of 2016.
